Pretty sure, while Babcock is definitely a great coach, Carlyle didn't exactly screw up Getzlaf and Perry when he was there.... you know, since they won a cup and have been dominant ever since. Ron Wilson on the other hand... NHL hockey may have passed him by...

Carlyle also had Selänne, Niedermayer, and Pronger helping out with the coaching, and assistance from those vets is probably a great help to Carlyles hands off approach.
